Todays word: Fancy (日本語で派手）
こんにちは皆さん！Todays english word is 'fancy'. In english, we can use fancy in a negative way, or in a positive way. Therefore, I think it is a very useful word to know, as you can use it in many situations.
I think the most common way to use 'fancy' in english is as an adjective (形容詞). For example, "That shirt is fancy" (日本語で：そのシャツは派手です!). If we want to use fancy in a negative way, we usually add 'too' before. For example, "That shirt is too fancy" (日本語で：そのシャツは派手すぎるです).
One of the reasons I chose fancy as a word of the day is because whenever I would say fancy, most of the time, my students did not know what the word meant. For example, I would always say "Ginza is too fancy, so I don't like it" (日本語で：銀座は派手すぎるだから好きじゃないです). It was always difficult trying to explain 'fancy', so I thought I would learn the word in Japanese so it would be much easier to explain to my students.
